SATB/SSAA, unaccompanied, finger cymbals
Published by J.W. Pepper
This setting of an R. Michael Honig poem raises the question of what is the nature of faith. The setting was inspired by the works of the medieval composer Guilliame de Machaut.
Duration: 3’
Libretto:
First you feel it…
Then you don’t feel it.
Think you know it?
Something tingles…
Something rings true.
Then you hear it
Call to your spirit:
“Take a Leap of Faith.”
Now you’re thinking…
Trusting in reason;
Just believe in
Cause and effect.
Logic falters,
Everything alters.
“Take a Leap of Faith.”
What you need may come to pass,
If you want.
What you cannot touch may be.
Look inside and you may see
Things that can set you free..
Maybe you know it.
Then you sense it
Slipping away.
Undecided?
You’ve been invited.
“Take a Leap of Faith.”
What you seek may come to pass,
If you want.
What you cannot touch may be.
Look inside and you may see
Truth that can set you free..
Think you know it?
May-be you know it.
Then you sense it
Slipping away.
Undecided?
You’ve been invited.
“Take a Leap of Faith.”
“Take the Leap of Faith.”
